Sustainable Income

One of the goals of the Surety Connection Project is to raise funds to support the participating universities by creating opportunities whereby funds are collected and allocated on a one time basis to support the creation of ongoing sources of revenue for the University. This program, referred to as the Sustainable Income Program, will use funds collected to enhance applications owned by others, such as Surety Resource Connection and its CHICO Bid List Connection application, that in turn can be used to further improve the income generated for participating universities. Each university has sole discretion over the allocation of any funds, and will have no ownership in any of the applications it decides to allocate funds to.

Surety Resource Connection, Inc., the owner of the CHICO Bid List Connection application, has granted participating universities revenue from CHICO Bid List Connection as follows:

  • 100% of all net profits derived from new "base" and "supplemental" revenue generated during any renewal period.
  • 100% of all net profits derived from new "advertising" revenue generated during any renewal period.
  • 20% of all net profits derived from established "base" revenue sources.
  • 20% of all net profits derived from established "advertising" revenue generated during any renewal period.
  • 100% of all net profits from established "supplemental" sources.
  • 20% of all new subscriptions to be held in trust for the Founders Group selected projects.

Base income is defined as that amount Surety Resource Connection and the participating university declare as the fixed minimum amount for a subscription. For the year 2009 that amount is $20.00 a month. Supplemental income is defined as any amount that a participating university collects that is in excess of the base amount. "New" is defined as the first year of a subscription, advertising, or any other relationship. "Established" is defined as any subscriber, advertiser, or any other relationship that has been in place for over one year.
