Surety Access Connection is a Microsoft Access based application that
North Coast Surety Technologies, Inc. developed that has been offered to
participating university students as a prototype application they can work
on. The objective is to demonstrate how private bid management applications
can work using open standards, and to develop electronic communication
standards that both owners and surety companies can use in the administration
of their electronic verification process.
Since the application is written in Access, the application can
be modified and changed without restraint or further obligation.
There are no contracts (except the application cannot be sold
or distributed), no annual fees, and no modification charges.
There is, however, system
support and users should be knowledgeable in Access.
While students will learn by working with the application, a
portion of the proceeds from any sales will provide the financial
resources to achieve success for the project, and
provide funding for other
campus activities.
